Event High Lights
Highlight:
1.International Energy Agency (IEA) calls for annual additions of solar PV to reach 630 GW by 2030. In line with other decarbonization agenda, Malaysia expects that the RE growth in the energy mix will be able to reduce the GHG emission by 45% by 2035
2. Malaysia has announced approximately US$ 2.9 billion in expenditure for the installation of new grids, LED street lights and rooftop solar panels.
3.Malaysia will also open the tender for a 1400 MW solar power project in the year 2020, which is expected to generate 5 billion ringgit (US$1.1 billion) in investments.

POLICY®ULATION
In its economic relief package, Malaysia has announced approximately US$ 2.9 billion in expenditure for the installation of new grids, LED street lights and rooftop solar panels.

PLAN&AMBITION
In an effort to pave the way towards a more sustainable and green future, the Government of Malaysia announced a target for the country to increase renewable energy in its energy generation mix to twenty percent (20%) by the year 2025. In carrying out this agenda, one of the key renewable energy sources focused on by the Government is solar energy.
