A hybrid renewable energy project in Chile has advanced along the permitting highway.
The US$495 million project will be based in the northern Chile.
A unit of Spanish renewables developer Grupo Ibereolica Renovables will be developing the ERNC Loa initiative project, which comprises building a 270MW solar PV park and an associated 248MW wind farm. It will be based in Antofagasta region.
Besides, there will be construction of a 220kV, 38km transmission line and a substation, as per reports.
A report mentioned, "The environmental impact study of the project was accepted for processing by evaluation service SEA. The project began the environmental evaluation process in 2017, which was later withdrawn."
The ERNC Loa project construction is scheduled to start next year.
