Austrian energy developer Verbund AG announced that it has acquired 70% of renewables portfolio of five wind and solar projects in Spain.

The company acquired the projects from a local project developer Capital Energy.

It has been stated that the projects have a combined capacity of 171 MW.

According to the company, the portfolio comprises four wind parks with a capacity of 151 MW and a solar park of 20 MWp. The projects are currently under construction.

It has been informed that all these projects will be commissioned between the second quarter of 2022 to the first quarter of 2023.

According to Verbund, in addition to this portfolio, three more hybrid photovoltaic projects with a combined output of 80 MW are being developed in southern Spain.

Only last November, the company entered the Spanish market after acquiring a 147.6-MWp solar project.

Verbund aims to enhance its solar and onshore wind capacity to account for between 20% and 25% of its overall generation capacity in 2030.
