Vestas reports 391MW end of quarter order surge



Vestas secured turbine orders totalling 391MW as the first quarter of 2022 drew to a close in markets including France, India, Italy, Portugal and the US.


In the US, Vestas received a contract from an unnamed client for a 201MW undisclosed wind farm for 33 V162-6.2MW machines in 6.0MW operating mode and one V136-3.45MW unit.


The order includes supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a 15-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.

Delivery starts in the fourth quarter of 2022 with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2023.


In Portugal, a 50MW deal was sealed for the repowering of four wind parks to be located in the north of the country.


The contract includes the supply and installation of 11 V150-4.5MW turbines, as well as a 15-year AOM 5000 service agreement. No details of the wind farms or customer were revealed.


In France, H2Air ordered turbines totalling 31MW for several projects in the Hauts-de-France and in Centre-Val de Loire regions.


The contract consist of two V126-3.45MW, two V112-3.45MW, one V117-4.2MW, and three V136-4.2MW turbines.


Some of the hardware will be delivered in various power modes optimised for the local wind conditions.


The contract also includes a 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement.


Delivery and commissioning are planned for the fourth quarter of 2022.


In India, 15 V155-3.6MW machines were ordered for a 54MW project in Maharashtra.


The customer and project details are undisclosed.


Deliveries are expected to start in the third quarter of 2022, while commissioning is expected to begin in the last quarter of the same year.


A2A, through its subsidiary r2r, has signed an agreement with Vestas for the supply and installation of three V136-4.2MW turbines in 4.0MW operating mode and five V136-3.45MW turbines delivered in 3.6MW power optimised mode for the 30MW Matarocco greenfield wind park in Sicily, Italy.


The contract also includes an AOM 4000 agreement.


Turbine delivery is planned by the first quarter of 2023 while commissioning is expected by the second quarter of the same year.


Also in Italy, Inergia has placed a 25MW order for the Ascoli Satriano and the Cerignola wind farms to be located in Apulia.


The contract includes the supply and installation of six V136-4.2MW, as well as an AOM 4000 agreement for the maintenance and service of the wind park over the next 14 years.


Turbine delivery and commissioning are planned for the last quarter of 2022.
