Windin Capital completes acquisition of 104MW wind projects in Chile

Renewables equity fund Windin Capital has completed the acquisition of wind projects in Chile with a total capacity of 104MW.

The firm made an acquisition of one operational wind farm and two other wind projects.

The projects are named as the 32.4MW La Flor, the 37.8MW Vergara and the 33.6MW Cancura.

They are located in the regions of Biobio and la Araucania in Chile.

Windin Capital focuses on investment opportunities in renewable technology, including wind, solar and storage.

According to the company, La Flor wind farm has been in operation since October 2019, while Vergara and Cancura are under development. These both wind projects are expected to start construction towards the end of 2022.

Meanwhile, Windin Capital has opened a strategic office in Barcelona, Spain.

In Spain, the company plans to develop at least six renewable energy projects with a total capacity of more than 300 MW. Besides, it is also considering future operations and investments in Europe and Latin America.

Windin Capital managing partner Nadav Saad was quoted in a report, “We are excited to expand our international presence. Investing in these new promising renewable energy assets brings us closer to our core objective of having a positive global impact."

He further said that opening of new office in Spain "provides a solid foundation for future projects and represents a big step towards our goal of driving change for a greener economy.”
